I installed the plugin 3 months ago and it stopped working 3 days ago. I tried to change the backup folder path but I still get the same message. I get these error messages ‘Your backup folder is NOT writable

To correct this issue, make the folder /wp-content/new_backup-db writable. (It is)

Your backup folder MIGHT be visible to the public

To correct this issue, move the file from /wp-content/plugins/wp-dbmanager/htaccess.txt to /wp-content/new_backup-db/.htaccess (I have)

When I checked the Cpanel this morning I noticed an error message saying that the automatic backup failed to execute because the ‘new_backup-db’ folder did not exist. That was my mistake as I forgot to install the htaccess file in the new folder. It is installed now.
So the plugin won’t write to or recognize the old folder and path and it won’t recognize the new folder and path as seen on the WP Dashboard but the auto backup still tried to execute. What next?
    thanks,
    Terry

Your backup folder MIGHT be visible to the public is just a warning, it will not affect your backup at all.

I recommend trying to backup by the command line to see if it works in the first place http://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/wp-dbmanager/faq/ 1st Question.

Thanks for the reply. If I knew how to carry out the steps in the link you provided that would be helpful. Since I don’t know how, I will just go ahead and delete your plugin. There are other backup methods available and I don’t have the time to go through all these steps to solve the problem.
