Plugin not accepting language files

Hi there,

I use the plugin as a widget in the sidebar on a german website. Unfortunately the displayed language is still english. The existing mo / po files in the plugins language folder look correct, but they are not used by the plugin. Is it necessary to configure the plugin, so it will use the language files?
