• I use Wordfence on all my websites and now on at least one it is not updating and deleting old files. Is this a cron job thing?

Is there any way to fix this short of me going to another plugin? There is no way I can pay for plugins for 20 websites.

  • Hi @locpicker

May I know more details regarding the symptoms of this issue? why exactly you concluded that the plugins isn’t deleting files in /tmp directory and which /tmp directory exactly?

Also, please check what you get in “Wordfence > Tools > Diagnostics” for “Filesystem” and “Wordfence Config” sections.

    Thanks.

    Hello @wfalaa,
maybe I can continue this conversation, I have the same problem.

Both ‘Filesystem’ and ‘Wordfence Config’ are showing all green ticks.

The files are collecting in the /tmp/ folder which is alongside the /public_html/ folder.
An example file name is: ‘wordfence.7.1.7-X9RrFi.tmp’.
Each file is between 3-5 MB.
There are currently around 60 files in the folder.

The hosting is Linux provided by Siteground. Siteground support have suggested that I speak to the Wordfence devs about the issue.

    Thanks
