I noticed it was installed in the plugins directory. I removed that install manually leaving it only inthe mu-plugins folder.

    New members still dont’ work.

Perhaps when re-enabled Budypress installs the plugin wasn’t functioning?

Ok, now I see where the must use category is for plugins.

When re-enabling buddypress, should i do this on the sub-network, then the sub-site?

    Or only the Network?

I think the instructions could stand to be a little clearer.

Well, I re-cleared the database of all bp- tags I could find (site meta didn’t have any), re-enabled it for the subnetworks (but not he sites), and new users added to each subnetwork are still visible between subnetworks 🙁

    Any thoughts?

The user base is still shared across the WP install.
