Correction – It’s NOT doing so (splitting the url’s into seperate files).
Thanks
Have you enabled splitting post-based sitemaps? Note that the first option that allows you to limit the number of items per sitemap is not the correct setting to split post-based sitemaps.
Yes definitely. you’re talking about the “Automatically split post-based sitemaps into smaller sitemaps? ” option? if so, it’s checked and i’ve indicated 100 URL’s per sitemap and on the option at the top of the config screen: Output no more than (100)
Okay, it works like this:
The option at top of the config screen is a global limit, which means it applies to all sitemaps, and it is a base limit that split sitemaps must also adhere to.
So, if you set that global limit to 100, and the split option to 100, that means you will only get 1 sitemap (simple math: 100/100 = 1).
You’d better set the global limit to 10000.
Ok.. is there a way to force a rebuild of the sitemaps?
Hi dismiss the last comment.. that didn’t work.. all it did was increase the page.php URL’s and still can’t get it to split the pages up. any ideas?
What do you mean by ‘increase page.php URL’s’?
