    Hi there!

I’ve just tried the plugin but I cannot seem to be able to make it work. I put this basic shortcode on a new page but nothings appears. The generated HTML seems to not have any auto-generated code when I look at it with Firebug:

    [bibtex file=http://www.citeulike.org/user/myUserName]

Could it be that it is an issue with the latest WordPress 4.0? If not, might some other plugin interfere? I doubt I have anything more that could interfere, apart from the Marketplace plugin.

Thank you for your attention, I’d really love to be able to use the plugin, looks great! 🙂

I tested papercite with WP 4.0, and I have no problem with it. Are you sure you activate the plugin?

    Yes, it is!

Do you think it could be due to using a Child theme? I’m using Hueman Theme, I’ve done a quick search and some users reported that shortcodes do not work for them. The author states that they should.

I also tried disabling a plugin called ‘Insert HTML Snippet’ that allows to create shortcodes for some common HTML content, but made no difference.

    Any ideas?

No troubles using the Hueman theme – just tested it. It must be some plugin incompatibility I suppose, the best would be deactivate them all and then reactivate them one by one…

I tried disabling all the plugins and still no luck :/

Hey, I finally managed to make it work!

I first tried to upload a .bib file and use it locally and it worked so the plugin must be working ok.

So I suspected I must be doing something wrong with the URL and I was, I didn’t realize I had to put the /bibtex/ in between, like this:

    [bibtex file=http://www.citeulike.org/bibtex/user/myUserName]

Thank your for your support and excuse all the fuss 🙂

OK, great that you solved this.
