• As of this morning, our entire site, including admin areas went down, showing only a fatal redirect loop.

After deleting all our plugins and restoring plugins one-by-one via a backup from yesterday (when the site was working 100%), it appears to be iThemes Security that is causing the issue (or, at the very least, it is during/immediately following reactivation of iThemes Security that the error reappears). Deactivating/removing the plugin solves the issue.

Confused as to why this issue would have just cropped up suddenly, especially now that we’ve essentially reverted to a previous working state. We update all our plugins as often as possible, so we’ve been using the most recent version since shortly after it came out.

Any insights as to what could be causing this or how to potentially remedy it would be greatly appreciated. We love the functionality and security the plugin provides, but obviously we need to solve this.

    Thanks!

  • EXACTLY THE SAME PROBLEM for us. We also have the very latest version of WP, and the latest of iThemes, and the problem started early this morning (maybe 4AM ET). As with MattFI, enabling plugins one by one points to iThemes as the cause.

The plugin actually randomly kicked me out while I was making routine changes (to a widget) this evening, then showed me the Maintenance Mode page. And though I can log in, technically speaking, and I should not see Maint. Mode following that… instead, I see the admin bar at the top of WP to tell me that I’m logged in, BUT I’m only able to view one page — the blog home page.

Please help. This plugin was completely amazing and useful before this.
