Plugin overrides page template setttings

I’m developing a site using a child theme of Twenty Thirteen and have created a full width page template as some of the pages require this, including the products page.

The full-width template works fine until I select it as the page to display the product catalogue. Once a page is selected as the products page for this plugin my page template selection is overriden and the default page template is displayed, complete with sidebar. How can I force the plugin to use the selected full-width page template?
