[Plugin: Page Sidebars] adding paragraphs/formatting

currently the main entry input box is in a raw/html format but is there a way (via simple code) to make text a bit more formatted?
(ie adding <p></p> tags to entered text on new lines, i’ve been adding <br />‘s manually)
