disable all your plugins and see if the error returns, sounds like a conflict or it could be an incomplete download.
Hi,
as Zeek20 said, it can be a conflict.
it can also be that “common.orig.php” was replaced by a wrong file.
check with your ftp. and if “common.php” is quite the same as “common.orig.php” (at the root of phpbb) it’s that there was a problem updating the file.
to fix that : go to phpbb.com, download it again and unzip it somewhere.
then take the “common.php” file in this archive and upload it as “common.orig.php” on your server, this should do the trick ! 😀
Ok, so I disabled all the plugins and tried to activate only the single sign on plugin and received the exact same error. So we can rule that out.
I have a question regarding what Onigoetz posted. Namely do I need to upload a brand new common.php file as “common.org.php”? So then both files would be in the root of phpbb or should there be only one of each?
Also, I have phpbb SEO forum installed (so it’s not just a vanilla PHPBB) and so I have a file named “common-org.php” in the root alongside “common.php” and it is working just fine.
I”m pretty new about this so I appreciate any in depth help you can give.
I had a REALLY hard time making wordpress and phpbb play nice in the first place and I want to avoid any future big problems. Thanks a ton for your help!
