Hi, I have the exact same problem as weirdcity. Installed Promotion_Slider 3.3.1 in latest WP installation (without Network). The Featured image module did not show up anywhere. Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the pluggin. Still no options to choose Featured image.

Certain plugins and themes try to add thumbnail support in a way that breaks other themes and plugins. I would start by disabling all your other plugins temporarily to see if the featured images functionality returns. If so, re-enable the plugins one at a time until the problem returns to find the culprit.
If it isn’t a plugin, switch to the TwentyEleven or TwentyTen theme temporarily and see if it returns.
If it isn’t your theme or any of your plugins, post back and let us know what you’ve done and that the problem still exists.

The plugins were not the problem. It is the theme: Esplanade, which has a slider of its own, but it only works on a blog page. I want it on a static page which is why I found your plugin. Unless you have some good advice, I’ll either try another theme, or see if I can find a work-around with Esplanade.

I am not familiar with the Esplanade theme, but you might try contacting the theme author about this problem if you are particularly attached to it ( it should be a simple fix ). Alternatively, you could get a developer to update the theme for you. Otherwise, you would definitely want to look into another theme.
Just a word of warning, but themes that don’t know how to properly implement thumbnail support probably have other issues.
