Plugin providers accessing admin email address

Lately, admin has been receiving emails from some plugin providers without consent. This is very bothersome when working on a client’s site where their email address is listed under admin. Allowing this puts the release of email addresses at risk when trying out any plugin. Is there any way to prevent this?
