Hi @toad78,
Great question! Since you’re asking about the Conditional Shipping and Payments extension, which is a premium plugin, the best way to get tailored support is by opening a support ticket directly with us.
That way, our Happiness Engineers can take a closer look at your specific setup and help confirm whether the plugin can meet your subscription and shipping conditions.
I’ll be marking this topic as resolved but feel free to reach out if you need anything else.

My issue is not support related, and you have to have an account with the link provided. I’m just inquiring about the plugin and if it will do the job.
Hi @toad78,
Thanks for clarifying, and I appreciate you raising such a thoughtful use case.
Based on what you’ve described, the Conditional Shipping and Payments extension does offer flexible rules for restricting shipping methods based on product type, cart contents, and even date ranges. However, combining those conditions with subscription logic, like offering free shipping only for the first month and only until a specific date, can get quite nuanced.
While the plugin is powerful, it cannot differentiate between the first month of a subscription versus subsequent renewal orders. It doesn’t have built-in logic to detect “this is the first payment” vs “this is a renewal payment” for the same subscription.
Since this is a Woo extension and for additional information, I’d strongly recommend opening a support ticket so one of our Happiness Engineers can assist you directly. They’re well-versed in the Marketplace extensions and can provide a more tailored answer than we’re able to offer here in the public forums. And yes, you need to be logged in to contact support.
I hope that helps. Let us know if you need anything else.

Thank you, @frankremmy , for getting back to me.
I took a look at the docs for the premium plugin and there is no indication that this feature is an option. Looks like special coding will have to be involved to make this work. I must be the only person on the plant that thinks outside the box beyond such standards.
🙂
Hi @toad78,
Thanks for your follow-up, and I appreciate you laying out your use case so clearly. You’re right that the current configuration options in Conditional Shipping and Payments may not fully support the kind of time-based logic you’re aiming for, especially when paired with subscription behavior.
That said, your idea of offering free shipping only for the first month and only until a specific date is a great use case, and one that could benefit other store owners too. You’re more than welcome to submit a feature request so our product team can consider it for future development.
We’re always looking to improve based on real-world needs, and your input helps shape that direction. Thanks again for sharing your insight!
