• Is this possible to revert plugins an easier way?
-Could I duplicate my plugin folder before updating
    -Name it plugins-old
    -Proceed with updates
-if anything breaks, rename the folder form plugins-old to plugins

Do plugin updates change anything besides their own plugin files? Do plugin updates change my database too?

Just looking for an easy way to revert to old plugins if updates break something.

  • Some plugins sometimes make database updates. My experience has been that these sorts of updates aren’t that common, but they do happen particularly with complex plugins. Having said that, what you’ve described will work assuming there aren’t database updates. I’ve done that one a smaller scale with individual plugins.

Thanks Marios, I wish the plugin screen told us straight away if it did DB changes or not before clicking the update link. You hear that ww.wp.xz.cn?
