    Hi,

Some of my subscribers complained of receiving multiple confirmation emails after clicking on the link in the first confirmation double opt-in email. I also have user’s email addresses listed multiple times under Recent Subscribers on the Overview page. Could you please help diagnose/fix this problem?

Below is my Debug Information. Please let me know if you need anything else.

  • I’m the author of Popup Maker, doesn’t sound like you have determined any issue with popup maker at this point but if you do just ping me with an @danieliser and I’ll be glad to chime in.

    I appreciate it @danieliser!

The problem seems to be that you are displaying the pop-up to subscribe on the confirmation page. when I click on the confirmation link (which is unique to each subscriber) I eventually end up on your confirmation page:

    http://spoonfulofgossip.net/confirmed/

It tells me that I am confirmed and then the pop-up comes up and asks me to sign up again. If someone fills out the pop-up a second time they will get another confirmation email. We need to add some additional check as to whether the subscriber is already on the list and display a different message. In the meantime, the best way to solve this problem would be to prevent the pop-up from showing on the confirmation page. I think it is just confusing people.

@danieliser Popup Maker Looks pretty cool. We get asked about pop-up plugins all the time. I’ll need to give it a try. Could be great to have one to recommend to SendPress Users.

@itdoug Glad to hear it, shouldn’t be a problem to disable the popup on that one page.

Let me know if you find anything that needs addressing for full compatibility with your plugin. Would be glad to add yours to our officially supported list.

@itdoug – Thanks for the help! I thought I had only had it set up where only I was seeing the pop up on every page, not everyone else. Fixed it now though. 🙂

Thank you both for all the help!
