I have w3 total cache(page/browser/object cache) and wp-minify running (css cache)

And when I use Ultimate SEO, it causes my 404 pages to become blank. When I disable Ultimate SEO, it shows up again.

I currently do NOT have this line in my htaccess.
    ErrorDocument 404 /index.php?error=404

But it’s the same result with and without that line.

Really frustrated, hope someone can help! thanks!!

What happens if you disable your other plugins?

I figured it out accidentally and randomly from another issue. At the time of the testing, it’s whenever SEO Ultimate was turned off that things worked fine. But it wasn’t because it was exactly a buggy plugin, but because it was a memory hog.

Through some random events, I got an error message from someplace else telling me meta.php ran out of memory.

So I boosted wp-config.php memory allocation to 128M, and now everything works fine. No more blank pages either.

Would have been nice if WP gave more error codes when it’s a blank page.

Glad to hear you got it working. If it’s of help to know, SEO Ultimate uses about 5 MB of memory in my tests.
