The “bypass” cron setting wouldn’t prevent notifications, it’d just make them show up in your inbox a little more readily right after submitting.
Regarding trying to debug what’s going on with the lack of entries in your list, the “Debug” setting at the very end would be more beneficial to enable and save. That’ll reveal a normally hidden submenu that will hold error logs once some are generated. Part of the logging in place is checking details being sent to the API as well as the responses, so once enabled, just going and submitting to the form would start populating the log right away.

I turned it on, and the emails seemed to stop – does the debug throw an error on the front end?
Also, the issue of settings not saving properly means I now cannot turn it off – whats the key to manually edit this in the DB?

The fact that things aren’t saving like expected is a bit odd and we’re not sure why it’s happening as it’s the first time we’ve seen this.
Most, if not all, of the options we save have an option key prefix of ctct_ so doing a LIKE search for that should find you the results. %ctct_%
