[Plugin: Shadowbox JS] Duplicate images in multiple galleries

OK, I give up. I just can’t figure this one out.
I have a grouping of small (2 image) galleries. Each one uses this kind of markup:
<img src=”smallimage2.jpg” class=”lot”/>
There are four of those, all the same except the others have rel=”shadowbox[Gallery2]” etc.
Unless I completely misunderstand the Shadowbox documentation, each one should open a 2-image shadowbox gallery.
But what’s happening instead is that each one opens a gallery with a seemingly random number of images (10 in the first gallery, 6 in the 3rd gallery, etc.). However, there are not that many images in each gallery. Instead, it is just the same 2 images cycling over and over and over.
I have a feeling this has something to do with the caching of images, but for the life of me, I can’t figure it out.
Anyone seen this before?

that have no gallery specified. A lot of those images are wrapped in elements with “display:none;” and while they are hidden from normal viewing, they will not be hidden from Shadowbox.

I’m using another plugin to cycle the list items that contain the images, and I figured that was probably the source of the issue. I think I’ll just have to bail on using shadowbox here, at least where the gallery function is concerned.
