There’s nothing in the plugin that prevents this from working. Depending on your permalink settings, you may not be able to load pages using page_id queries, because it would just redirect you to the permalink.

I’m not sure if you really want you page to live at page_id=1 instead of at clean url like /press/, but if you do you’ll probably have to set your permalink settings to the first option, “Default.”
