    Hello all,

Since updating from 12.5.1, I am unable to flip between Visual and Text editors. Also, the Yoast panel is half-hidden and not workable.

Wen I deactivate the plugin, I can flip between Visual and Text editors, but obviously, cannot update the title and MD tags.

I tried updating each time an update is available (even to 14.1) but have to revert back to 12.5.1 every time so far.

Has anyone else had this issue? TIA.

  • Hi Paul,

You mentioned that you’re not able to update past 12.5.1. Can you confirm that you’re using WordPress 5.3 or above? That’s the minimum version required to update to 14.1.

Also, are you using the default WordPress block editor, the Classic Editor plugin, or a third-party page builder?

    Hi Priscilla,

    Thanks for responding.

I can update the plugin but it breaks the editor and the Yoast panel when I do. Anything past 12.5.1, very odd.

Running WP 5.4.1, default editor. Template is https://themeforest.net/item/blue-diamond-responsive-corporate-wp-theme/3454881, which does have a built-in page builder.

    Does that help? TIA.

I could try and switch temporarily to the 2020 template, update the plugin, then see if it is still an issue.

@pmycroft if you could revert back to a default theme such as TwentyTwenty and then update to v14.1 and see if the classic or block editor then works as expected, then it would most likely be a conflict with your theme’s page builder.

    Hi @pmycroft ,

We’re closing this thread because we haven’t heard back from you in a while. Should you have further questions, please open a new thread.

    Hi,

I have a similar problem. I updated Yoast SEO plugin from 14.6 to 15.2.1 and the page settings tab and help tab at top of WP admin panel are obscured and drop downs don’t work and the WP editor is stuck in text mode and won’t switch to visual mode.

If I de-activate Yoast SEO plugin, it all works fine.

Rolled plugin back to 14.6 and it all works again.

    Any idea ?

    Steve

    More info

The above is correct with WordPress 5.4.4

With WP 5.5.3 the problem still occurs with Yoast SEO de-activated or with Yoast SEO 14.6.

    Steve
