Can you delete the wp-content/plugins/slideshow-gallery/ folder and then reinstall? 🙂
You can delete the folder via FTP or file manager in your hosting.
I assume the plugin is not under “Plugins” in WordPress to delete?

I am using this shortcode: “[slideshow gallery_id=”1″]”
It is in a text widget.
That’s all I’m doing to display it. And yeah its that big blank section, its called the “featured section”
edit: I put in a title for the text widget and it seems to appear
