So the language of my blog/site is set to French, but the petition plugin front end language is still English (the “Sign now” button, etc). The plugin has the .po/.mo files included (has French). Do I need to do anything for it to start outputting the buttons/messages in French?

  • A few of the strings used on the front end – like “Sign Now” – are customizable through your WordPress admin. If you had your site’s language set to French before installing the plugin then these strings would be translated to French. You apparently switched your site’s language over to French only after installing the petition plugin, so these strings are appearing in the default language.

To change these, open your WordPress dashboard and go to the plugin’s Settings page (under the Email Petitions sidebar menu). The Sign Now button text can be changed on the “Petition Form” tab. Go through the other tabs there as well and see if there are any other English strings you want to translate before saving.

    That works, thanks.
