Plugin stuck in maintenance mode

    Hi,

    Even though the plugin was deactivated, my site is stuck in maintenance mode with the plugin. However, I could still login to admin area.

    So I deleted the plugin but the site is still stuck in maintenance mode, showing my maintenance message.

    I am not sure if a recent WordPress update has done this? From memory, I think I still had the plugin activated (but not in maintenance mode) when the update occurred. Also, I use WP Rocket, which was activated as well.

    Could you please advise how I get rid of the maintenance mode despite deleting the plugin? And so I can re-install and continue to use the plugin, is there something I need to do to ensure it doesn’t remain stuck in maintenance mode in the future?

    Hi again,

    Just to confirm, I emptied the cache from WP Rocket.

    And also, a weird thing happens which I neglected to mention.

    Once I login to the site, log out, and go back to my site, it is operational again and the maintenance mode message has disappeared. On each occasion I have cleared the cache. I even tried deactivating WP Rocket which made no difference. I also Max CDN and I purged the cache from that end as well.

    But then several hours later I will visit the site and the maintenance mode message is back.

    I also emptied cache in browser and used several browsers with same result.

    Hello @sossyw,

    This kind of problems are usually caused by cache plugins. So… I think you should open a ticket on WP Rocket support because I believe you have some issues with the empty cache mechanism.
