Odd; can you link me to someplace where I can see the map issue you noted?
Also: what’s the rotating gif you mention? You mean the ajax loader that appears when toggling between months in grid view?
Hey roblagatta,
Sorry for late response, thanks for your reply.
You can take a look at http://www.soba.org.nz/events (rotating gif) and http://www.soba.org.nz/event/emersons-beer-options/ (no map)
Sorry I did make a mistake earlier – I didn’t go from 2.0 to 2.01 I think I went from 1.x to 2.01.
Hey robowen. No worries about the delayed response. I am seeing that rotating gif on your site; weird, since normally that only appears when you are going from one month to the next. It possible this is a conflict with another plugin or your theme? Have you tried deactivating other plugins to see?
Not sure what’s up with the map issue either; this is the first I’ve seen it. You don’t have another plugin running that impacts or generates map functionality on the site by chance, do you?
Hi roblagatta,
I did try to deactivate plugins but no joy. As I mentioned the gif doesn’t look great on a dark background and it’s not really necessary to have a graphic when changing months is it? I might just try to find where I can remove it.
The Google map used to work before I upgraded and I haven’t added any new plugins since upgrading so not sure why that’s not working.
Hey robowen. The first place I’d look for disabling that loading gif would be in the Resources folder. Should give you what you need in there.
On the map: after the upgrade this past Friday, you should now be on 2.0.2. Can you confirm that you upgraded, and if so whether it fixed this issue or not?
Hey roblagatta,
I got it sorted. It was the page template I was using from my theme (Kriesi Newscast) causing the problem. Full width for some reason was causing problems with both the google map and the spinning gif.
Although I have fixed, I still don’t like the gif cause I’ve got a dark background so the gif has a whole load of aliasing stuff. A version of the gif for black backgrounds would be good.
Thanks for your help roblagatta 🙂
Ah, excellent to hear you got this resolved. I do like the idea of a version of the gif for black backgrounds; shouldn’t be hard to implement and would definitely serve value. If it comes it’ll be no earlier than 2.1 though.
