I would like an answer to this also. The order of groups needs to be logical not chronological 😀
If I understand – it’s about ordering meta boxes on post edit page?
We had thoughts on that, but for now user can move boxes using built-in drag and drop.
Yes, exactly. This isn’t much of a problem when I’m designing a site for a individual client who will be the only one using the site. I can go in to their account and reorder the metaboxes so they are placed logically and coincide with my written How-To document I give my clients.
This could become an issue only when a site will be adding additional admins without my assistance. The problem would be annoyance and/or confusion on the part of the new admin if they didn’t know they could reorder metaboxes themselves… And my having to add another set of instructions to the How-To document of course.
You’re right about this. I’m adding it as a future feature request, so that you can setup sites and manage everything from the plugin admin, without going through the post edit screen to finalize the setup.
We’ll just add a numeric ‘order’ field in the post edit. It’s not going to be very ‘stylish’, but will allow you to control things when you setup the site.
My daddy always said to choose function over style 😀
And thank you for your great plugin! I’m finding it very helpful in my site developments.
