Plugin update

    Was using Version 5.3.6.1 with great satisfaction. Then my hosting provider forced a core update to 6.8.1 which crashed the site. Was able to get the site up again on the new core but Events Calendar was deactivated. When I try to activate the plugin I get “Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.” I see a new version of the plugin is available. If I install the newer version will it overwrite the existing dates / events that was in the original.

    Hello, were you using WP 5, or EM 5?

    I’d suggest updating for sure! Data shouldn’t be overwritten, some things should upgrade though as we’ve added a LOT over the years.

    My suggestion is update to version 6, then 7. Take backups between updates!
