Plugin updates breaking website

WordPress does not update plugins automatically by default, and there isn’t a simple setting for it either.

See if you have any plugins installed that may provide this feature. For example, I see that you are using Jetpack, and automatic plugin updates through it’s Manage module is one of Jetpack’s features: https://jetpack.com/support/site-management/
