Plugin updates connection errors

    I’m trying to update three plugins and it seems the plugins area is down or incredibly slow. Tried to update WordTwit and after a long delay received “Download failed. SSL connect error”. Same with updates to Slimstat and Slimstat Dashboard. Plugin search has a very slow response, minutes.
