Plugin Updates Not Working

In Desktop Mode Plugins window, the “Update available” tab is not working. It shows no plugins need update. There’s also no indicator or button to update in the “All” tab. Even though in the admin sidebar, there’s badge with number of updates available on the plugins icon.
