Hi Support,

I have used “Product Catalog Simple” By impleCode plugin in my website to show products. But what I notice if we changed any php file in plugin it update that file daily after my customization.

Can you please suggest the solution or issue with this plugin.

Hi @anjaliteam,

The plugin doesn’t replace any files. The only time when the files are replaced is when you (or WordPress automatically) update the plugin. This is why direct plugin files modification is not recommended.

What exactly are you trying to customize?

Hi Support,

Thanks for clarifying. What I meant is that when I make changes directly in the plugin files (for example, editing the HTML output for product listing and product detail pages), those customizations get overwritten whenever the plugin updates.

For instance, I edited the plugin files to adjust the design on this page:

But since the plugin was updated recently (last updated ~21 hours ago on https://ww.wp.xz.cn/plugins/post-type-x/

Could you please guide me on the best way to customize the plugin output (especially the product listing and detail templates) so that the changes remain safe during updates?

Hi @anjaliteam,

You can create ‘implecode’ folder inside your child theme and copy the plugin files there.
