Backup to Amazon S3 has been present since day 1, and not been taken out. Where are you looking for it? It’s in the ‘Settings’ tab, under ‘Remote storage’.

Hello David: I still do not see what you suggest. When I go to settings, the only thing I see is UpdraftPlus Backups, no remote.
When I click on this, I only get one screen. It has the following info. Actions: Backup Now/Clone/Migrate Restore; Next scheduled backups:; Last backup job run:; Last log message. This is all I see.
I was not able to use http://snag.gy. It will not paste. Again, My ability to backup to Amazon s3 has been lost. I even uninstalled and reinstalled the program.

Hello David again: I tried running a full backup again (local+remote). It did backup locally, but remotely. There is now no way to see what my access and secret keys are. There is no way to tell which remote site it will go to. The program went through “Pruning old backup sets” and 8 next resumptions, then it abended incomplete. Nothing has been deposited into my Amazon S3 bucket like it used to. During execution it also gave this error message; PHP event: code E_Notice: Undefined property: Std Class ::
$Crawler (line 91, wp-content/plugins/wp-statistics/includes/classes/hits.class.php). It appears that the full program is not being loaded on install anymore.

Hi,
It sounds a bit like PHP on your webserver dies mid-way through rendering the UpdraftPlus settings page. The most likely cause of that is if your WP site is using an amount of memory very close to the configured limit on the server. To raise that limit, follow the instructions in this article: http://updraftplus.com/faqs/deal-fatal-error-allowed-memory-size-errors/

Hello David: I did as you suggested, and when I logged on I got the
same page. This time I did not try to backup. If there is no way to
view my access and secret key, how would updraft know where and what
to send my information to? Could it be that the free version only now supports local backups and no S3 any longer?

Please can you send a screenshot of your UpdraftPlus settings page? It sounds like the loading of the page aborts for some reason. It’s not compulsory to use http://snag.gy – any method at all that you prefer for sharing screenshots is fine.

[email protected] is an email address that belongs to the WordPress foundation. I believe it’s the one that they use to auto-send forum responses from. I believe anything you send to it isn’t even read by them either (hence the “noreply”). You’ll need to post something to this forum thread for me to see it.

Hi,
Without a screenshot, it’s hard to say. But it sounds like your webserver kills the page load because of a lack of memory. i.e. The page load of the settings page gets aborted because of how the webserver is configured.

Again, I tried as you suggested, but to no avail. You cannot continue to increase memory ad-infinitum. May I suggest the following: Why don’t you install the plugin yourself, load it in and see what happens.

I received a notification on my plugin page to update UD+. I tried to do this before I read your last message. The update did nothing but spin wheels and never updated. After 15 minutes I canceled the update. With respect to your message concerning view source, can you specifically spell out the lines you want me to copy and where you would like for me to paste them.
