• I have a problem with upgrading plugins… Does not matter which plugin upgrade it is I get a similar error for any plugin I try to upgrade…

    Downloading install package from http://downloads.wp.xz.cn/plugin/akismet.2.5.2.zip…
    Unpacking the package…
    Installing the plugin…
    Could not create directory. D:/Hosting/5939803/html/wp-content/plugins/akismet/
    Plugin install failed.

I install the plugin I have to login to my hosting server and delete the directory, the install the latest version, it seems that none of the upgrades can create the file in the new directory doing an upgrade, but after the directory is deleted I can install the newer version… using the same login to wordpress…. At first thought it might be a permissions error, but why would it let me install new but not upgrade?

    Thanks

  • This is usually a server configuration issue, based on the way your webhost has permissions set on the server. Submit a ticket to your webhost’s support dept explaining what is happening and that you want to be able to upgrade your plugins from within WordPress.
