Hi, GM_Alex.
Your plugin “User Access Manager” is working very good,
but I found that one important function is absent – subscription functions to choosen groups. I tried to use fo subscription – plugin “subscribe2” but of course it don’t see groups made by your plugin/
Do you have any ideas to make this function work?
Mishel
The restricted access to editors will come with the next release. I think I fixed all known bugs for the next release.
Hi Alex, I would like to use your plugin. I use wordress 2.6.5 and i tried to install version 0.62 and 0.61 of yours, when I did that I got an error — ” Fatal error: Call to undefined function register_uninstall_hook() in /wp-content/plugins/user-access-manager/user-access-manager.php on line 1304″
What do I do now?
Whoaaa!!!
I got same issue. Installed this plugin from the WP plugin interface and it crashed the site.
“Fatal error: Call to undefined function register_uninstall_hook() in /wp-content/plugins/user-access-manager/user-access-manager.php on line ####”
I deleted the plugin from the /wp-content/plugins/ folder, but now when I try to access pages on the site it prompts me for username/password.
What can I do to stop this???
I;m using WP 2.7.1 with no other authentication type plugins.
Thanks.
Has anyone the same problems like futuredude?
“Fatal error: Call to undefined function register_uninstall_hook() in /wp-content/plugins/user-access-manager/user-access-manager.php on line ####”
This should not happen. Please report me.
That the username/password prompt comes is if you are using media files, you must update these post, because of the file locking, or deactivate the file locking at the settings! You can update them by removing the links to the files and add it again by using wordpress, the new link will generated automatically.
I forgot [email protected], sorry. Please use the latest version, I add support for wordpress 2.6 to this one. If you have still problems report me. It seems that futuredude and you have the same problems.
I just upgraded to the new version and it did not go well. I did a clean uninstall of the upgraded (8.0.1) version, dropped the uam tables from my database, and did a fresh download of the plugin and reinstalled. Things started working as they should seem, but I now have the same issue where if User A has access to locked Page A, when they log in, they gain that access, but can also see all other pages that are locked down to groups they don’t belong to.
Have you check anything at the role affiliation? There are often understanding problems of the meaning of that. Is the [L] at the end of the posts correct?
Dear Alex,
Sorry this thread seems to have been hijacked, however, I wanted you to know that I have downloaded the current UAM, defined a set of users who are allowed to access a user access group which has ONLY the category “Volunteers Only” checked.
The site now seems to COMPLETELY hide the category and posts from anyone not logged in as “volunteer” user and to COMPLETELY show the category and posts to anyone who is.
YAY! It seems to be working properly for our purposes!!!
Congratulations and thanks SO much!
Mike
Check the blochcancer.net site — when not logged in, you’ll see a post from the UAM protected category shows up in the list under “Most Viewed” (a PostViews plugin widget)…
Shouldn’t this be suppressed? How can I do that?
Mike
Hi Alex
I am having a very strange problem. This is the sequence in how I am applying this plugin, and I dont know if the sequence matters.
First I create the user group which i called “Cycling Group”. Then I created two users A and B, then went to the UAM and assigned user A to “Cyclying Group”.
Then I went to categories, and created “Cycling Event” and assign it to the group I created “Cycling Group”. Then I created a post and assigned it to the category “Cycling Event”.
When I login as user B, for some reason i can see the category Cycling Group, and the Post title, but the description says “Sorry No Rights!”. And another strange thing, if i click on edit (User is Editor) I can see the description and I can edit it.
Is this behaviour right? Please help
Ayman
Yes that sounds strange. First you can try the option “hide complete posts” and “hide complete pages”. Then you have to check if the option “write access” is set to “only group members”. If you have still the problems the best way for me to find your problem is to send me a database dump. My email address can be found on the plugin page. Thanks for your help.
Bye,
Alex
@mike: Why I’m not surprised that WordPress don’t set up all posts at one place? 😉 I will see how I can fix that.
Ok bad news, I thought the everyone use the build in functions to get posts but some developers, including WordPress core developers, don’t use this function. I will add the support for all build in widgets of WordPress at one of the next releases, but if I want to support all plugins it will be a full time job to keep my plugin up to date.
usage question –
If I restrict a page will this plugin remove it(the page) from the menu for those users that are not authorized?
where can I modify the responses users get if they are not authorized to view the content?
thanks
