None of the menus that are visible in the plugin screenshots, actually show up on the admin area. I installed the Capability Manager plugin as this plugin’s documentation suggested, but I did not see any “Send Messages” capability added there either. I’m guessing that this plugin has not been updated for WP 3.0 or later. A shame, because it would have been really useful, and now I have to find an alternative.

  • Same problem but I worked it out. You’ll find that the screenshots are for the commercial version (2.0) not the free version (1.2.4) on the wordpress site. I appreciate the work that goes into plug-ins, but this doesn’t seem very honest to me

Well, I had this problem too, so in the end I bought the commercial version, and guess what? That doesn’t work either. There a few posts over on the plug-in’s own forum from users reporting the same thing – but so far, no response. My advice? Steer clear of this.

If anyone knows a plug-in that will do the same job – but actually works! – I’d be very gratefeul if they could post a link…

By looking at a more recent post from you (http://ww.wp.xz.cn/support/topic/plug-inole-scoper-role-scoper-and-user-messages-conflict?replies=3#post-2431393) it looks like it does work …

Well also by the feedback I have from lots of other users, both versions work properly on all WordPress versions (including 3.2.x and 3.3.x)

However, I should indeed put here the screenshots of the free version, this is a point I will correct soon.
