Plugin Visibility Issue

After installing the plugin (using latest core install of WordPress with Twenty Fifteen theme), it does not show up in the Installed Plugin list but clicking Plugins > Editor shows that it is installed. After manually deleting the plugin files from wp-content > plugins, WordPress automatically “deactivated” the plugin for missing files.
