[Plugin: W3 Total Cache]
-
Hi all,
I’m wondering if someone can help me out. I have 35-40 wordpress sites that are running all under the same server. We’ve been having some crashing issues because of CPU overload. We have about 1000 PHP cron scripts that run and use XML-RPC to generate new posts.
Our hosting service recommended W3 Total Cache and we’ve implemented it onto all of our sites. However, I’m not seeing benefits to the server crashing issue. I’m guessing that this is because of the cache being emptied every time that there are new creations (edit, new post etc).
Would it be even worth using w3 total cache? I’m seeing a lot of CPU usage on index.php and my guess is that it is because of new caches being created. Can someone verify if this is true? Maybe it’s better not to cache it since all pages are changing so frequently.
I have a dedicated system with (4 cores) and 4gb of ram. Memory usage typically does not go above 35% but the 4 cores goes up to as high as 11 and then drops back down. I think that is when the caches are being generated. I was monitoring traffic and there was only 1 visitor on the site at the time.
Any input is GREATLY appreciated!
