I don’t know Intense Debate specifically but atleast in the newest version of W3TC and the Page Cache settings there is a Purge Policy that does say to purge cache on new comments…so I’d say W3TC is working correctly?

I’m using Disqus which is somewhat similar 3rd party commenting plugin and even though comments are initially saved with them – these are sync’ed back to my site – so I’d assume W3TC is going pick up the newly added comment and purge the cache at this point. I think IntenseDebate also sync’s comments back to your WP site?

about the Purge Policy: i would like to have: “when posts are created, edited, or comments posted” =>=> “posts are created, edited” without comments…

Plugins like intensedebate and disqus do not have issues related to W3TC in my testing.
