[Plugin: WassUp] Referrer SPAM

    I absolutely love WassUp. One of the best plug-ins out there.

    I’ve got a question: Is there a way to better control what get’s marked as Referrer SPAM?

    When I look at my stats, visitors who came via Stumble Upon continuously get marked by WassUp as ‘Referrer SPAM’. Stumble Upon is absolutely NOT a Refferrer Spam site. StumbleUpon is a social site (like Reddit or Dig) that my pages often get submitted to and it draws quite a bit of legitimate traffic to my site.

    Users who come via Google UK also get marked as referrer SPAM.

    Does WassUp have a list of what it considers referrer SPAM stored in a SQL table that it checks against, or how does that work?

    I’d love to find a way of exerting more control over what gets marked as referrer SPAM and what gets marked as legitimate traffic coming in from legitimate referrer sites.

    Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

    A regular expression string may be incorrectly matching on a similar domain in WassUp’s spammer list from “badhosts.txt”. We will find and correct the problem for the next revision of WassUp. It would be a BIG help, if you could paste here examples of the referrer strings from these incorrectly labeled records. Use WassUp’s “View raw table” link for copy source.
