Plugin will not ‘Activate’ twenty Seventeen

    Hi
    Downloaded ‘disable comments’ as zip file. It installs but will not activate.
    Same applies when Plugin installed from WP ‘Add New’ Plugins page.
    Re-started WP – but all to no avail.
    WP 4.9.
    Theme ‘twentyseventeen’
    Firefox 57.0 (64bit)
    Linux Ubuntu 14.04

    Can anyone help please? Thanks!

    Hard to know what the issue is – does WordPress report any errors, any are any PHP errors being logged on your server?
