GD is installed and verified working by cpanel support but plugin still says error.

No php extensions are available to edit images on the server. ImageMagick or GD is required. More info?

    Hi @rapidsuccess

We are checking this as we have similar cases reported and will get back to you as soon as possible.

Right now, optimization works from the Media Library page so you can run the process from there.
Can you tell me where is your site hosted, please? This information could help us in further debugging.

    Best Regards
    Marko

    Hi @rapidsuccess

I am following up since we have some update that might be useful for you.

The problem seems to be happening because ImageMagick supported formats don’t include WEBP format.
Here in this PR which was released in 1 Feb, and we added the WebP MIME type to the list of images MIME types.
It would be great if you could consult with your hosting (it seems like you are on cPanel, but not mandatory), so maybe this article is a good read.

This part might be the most interesting part:

    > If you do not specifically need to use ImageMagick, it is highly recommended that you make use of the GD library instead of ImageMagick for webp support. The GD library comes with webp support by default when using EA-PHP on CentOS 7.

Please let me know if this helps and how things work, we are happy to help further on this.

    Best Regards,

    Ioanna
