I’ve been trying to update this and either WPSSO plugin and it fails. I was ignoring it because SEO isn’t that important but I’m getting a message that there is a security flaw now if someone is an authorized user. So I feel I need to address this.

If I uninstall and reinstall the plugins will I lose all the data?

This is my current version Version 17.17.0 | By JS Morisset | View details

WPSSO Update Manager is Version 5.1.0

The only factors I can think of causing problems are the PHP version. I have turned on WP_DEBUG log and looked at it. Nothing.

I have an older version of PHP – version 7.4.3-4ubuntu2.29

I have the WP_DEBUG login and updating either of the plugins above leaves no new messages.

Although there are a few of these [30-Apr-2026 21:04:00 UTC] SucomCache::get error: Error removing cache file /var/www/html/wp-content/cache/wpsso/cc49e19ee543583b5b4c4ad523bbc7fe.jpg. but none this month and those messages are quite sparse.

I’d uninstall and reinstall the plugins but not entirely sure it keeps the data tables when uninstalled?
