[Plugin: WooCommerce]

Really struggling.
I’ve got a set of products (printed leaflets) I want to load into WooCommerce.
I set the various attributes as follows:
Size
Quantity
Paper Weight
Service SpeedFor some reason I can combine size & quantity to provide me with, say 2 x 2 = 4 variations.
If I then add either of the other 2 attributes, for 2 x 2 x 2 = 8, say, it creates 8 variations OK.
But Paper Weight, is not selected either 1 or 2, it just says “Any Paper Weight”. Same with Service Speed. With all 4 attributes selected, both Any Paper Weight and Service speed remain unselected as to their variation.
You can manually edit each one, add a price and then the whole thing works.
But the problem is there are actually far more than 2 variations to each attribute. I’m just using pairs to test because each time it fails I have to go and delete 8 products to re-test.
Plus, I have lots of other products I want to do this with. A manual entry system may work round it but its not a longterm fix and I honestly thought WooCommerce V2 would have got round these issues.
Things I’ve done to try and fix it:
– set attributes to both Named and Custom Sort order; there was a bug where it would not work at all (generates 0 variations) a while back unless set to Named.
– deactivated all plugins except WooCommerce
– made sure everything is updated to latest versions
– made sure Reviews is unchecked and a shipping class is assigned
– deactivated my theme and tried with Twenty Twelve
– added one product and given it a price, then Published, then tried to link all variations.
– removed custom CSS “hide SKU” wrapper
– cleared WC Transients, Expired Transients
– deselected “visible on the product page”
– deselected category
– made sure there is text in the description and short description
– made sure tags are clear
…I just keep reproducing the behaviour, over and over.
If I make a new set of attributes called Custom with variations V1 and V2, then plug that in, it generates my products with variations intact!
If I create a new one called Card Weight instead of Weight, its back to Any Card Weight again! So I thought maybe its because there are spaces in the Card Weight / Weight names, removed all the spaces, still doesn’t work!!
Can anybody think what I have possibly done wrong? Is it something in my nomenclature? I’ve had this working before months back, and just had to get around the first issue mentioned, the Named/Custom Sort order field for the attribute.
Example of attributes that work:
A6, A7, A5, DL
50, 100, 250, 500
V1, V2, V3But yet:
250gsm gloss
V250
‘250’ gloss
“250” gloss….all do not work!
What on earth is the difference here?
Is it something to do with the fact 250 is used for another item? 250 is a quantity which I need.
Can attributes not contain any content that another contains? The slugs are different, as are the names, but they seem to be clashing in some way?
