    What about the “premium” version? Is it GPL or just derived from it?

    I can confirm that the free version available on this site is released under the GPL license. Having said that, I wouldn’t recommend you to modify the code because you would have to replay your modifications on every update which can make it hard to maintain… Right way to modify is to use action and filter hooks.

    If it’s derived from the GPL’ed version it’s GPL. That’s how it works.

    Instead of theorizing here and tagging the topic with BAIT-AND-SWITCH, which I’ve removed, head over to their site and just ask them.

    Just because there is a paid version of GPL’ed software that does not mean there is a problem. The GPL permits that and there are many sites that sell GPL software that are behind a pay wall.
