[Plugin: WordPress Backup to Dropbox] Multisite Backup

    Hi,
    I am using this to backup my site, which is hosted under a multisite set-up. The backup seems to contain the data from the multisite install and not from the site specific folders. For example, under wp-content, themes and plugins do not contain any of the ones that the site is currently using and therefore I am assuming that the plugin is not backing them up. Unless it is storing them under a different structure.

    Any ideas?

    The plugin has not been fully tested with Multi site so your milage may vary.

    Where are the site specific folders located?
    Are the in the ABSPATH or WP_CONTENT_DIR?

    Hi,

    The site specific files are in WP_CONTENT_DIR

    ABSPATH: /usr/share/wordpress/
    WP_CONTENT_DIR: /var/www/sites/Government/xxxxxx/wordpress/wp-content

    To the developer: I too am interested in how the plugin will work in a multisite setup. In principle, there should be no difference in backing up if the plugin is running only on the main site. As long as the whole database and everything in WP_CONTENT_DIR is backed up, I don’t see why it wouldn’t work. All the site-specific uploaded media is saved in WP_CONTENT_DIR/blogs.dir/ However, if smitp11 is trying to backup a single sub-site, that would probably be trickier and need to be taken into account.

    Also VERY interested on multisite compatibility, that would allow OR a complete installation backup OR a backup on a per site basis that would allow private backup for blog owners…

    Multisite backups are not supported but do work. There is no way of separating the backup of each individual site as the whole installation is connected.

    Per site backup that is not multisite can be achieved with unique subfolder naming or installation of the zip extension.
