Can I integrate another type of captcha into this plugin or is there a way to change the style of the integrated Google reCaptcha?

I’m using a form within a widget and reCaptcha takes up far too much space in the sidebar.

The Google version is the only one that comes stock. What is the other one you had in mind? If you are comfortable with PHP it is pretty easy to add new item types.
