    Host: Hostgator (Shared Server)
    Domain Registrar: GoDaddy
    Primary Domain: beesimplemarketing.com
    Secondary Site: mobile.beesimplemarketing.com
    Secondary Domain: cheap-mobile-website.com

    Godaddy settings:

    PRIMARY DOMAIN

    beesimplemarketing.com

    nameservers:
    NS1.BEESIMPLEMARKETING.COM
    NS2.BEESIMPLEMARKETING.COM

    A Record:
    108.167.174.123

    SECONDARY DOMAIN

    cheap-mobile-website.com:

    nameservers:
    NS1.BEESIMPLEMARKETING.COM
NS2.BEESIMPLEMARKETING.COM —- Just changed from Default nameservers

    A Record:
    108.167.174.123

    Setup on Subdirectory installation.

Just realized that there was a redirect in place that needed to be removed that was redirecting to primary site.

Also changed Name Servers on Secondary Domain (need to populate).

When I turn off mapping the subdomain site works fine.

When I turn it on it now goes to cheap-mobile-website.com which has the following on it:

    Index of /

    .ftpquota
    cgi-bin/
Apache Server at cheap-mobile-website.com Port 80

Does this suggest that it just needs to populate or ???

    Thanks!

    Redirect for what?

You should have parked cheap-mobile-website.com on top of beesimplemarketing.com

I had a redirect in place because I had multiple domains I picked up redirecting to my primary site.

I am now using one of those domains (cheap-mobile-website.com) to test this whole mapping situation.

    I want cheap-mobile-website.com to go to mobile.beesimplemarketing.com

Why would I park the domain on beesimplemarketing.com?

Not trying to be rude at all. Just haven’t seen anything in the directions I’m following (otto’s) that say to park the site on top of your primary domain???

Not sure why I would do that but I’m willing to try it if you think thats the problem?

That’s exactly what you need to do.

Do not add cheap-mobile-website.com as an add-on domain. Remove it if that;s what you did.

Park it on top of mobile.beesimplemarketing.com. Use the domain mapping plugin inside mobile.beesimplemarketing.com to map cheap-mobile-website.com.

You’ll be parking it from cpanel – not godaddy.

parking is how you tell your server where to send requests for that domain. in the case of multisite, you want it to land at the main install. then WP takes over and sends it to the right blog.

There should be no physical folder on the server.

Oh my word I could kiss you both. Aha!

I had it as an addon domain….2 minutes later and everything works beautifully.

Thank you thank you THANK YOU!!!

Add-ons make their own ‘home’. Parked sit on top 🙂
