It would be easier to hide the title using CSS, editing the wpp-post-title class like this:

.wpp-post-title {
display:none;
}

That way, you don’t need to make changes to the plugin.

Aditionally, I’d advice to copy the modified wpp.css file (wordpress-popular-posts/style/wpp.css) to your theme’s folder, so that any changes made to it won’t be lost on plugin’s future upgrades.
