[Plugin: WordPress Popular Posts] Several problems after upgrading

Hi everyone,
as a lot of other person, I had several problems after upgrading to 2.3.2, but all the fixing did not worked for me. I write my experience here to help Hector fixing his great plugin.

My site was never down because of the plugin as reported by someone. After upgrading I got the database error as many others, and tried deactivation and reactivation the plugin several times, but it’s still not working in several ways:

– I can’t see no thumbnail, even if the cache folder is writable.

– The update destroyed all my previous stats. There was no data during a couple of days until I manually cleared the table. Now it’s recording the visit again, but all the old data are gone.

– when I activate the plugin I get one of these two errors (I’m sorry, I can’t say what trigger one, or the other):
The plugin generated 504 characters of unexpected output during activation. If you notice “headers already sent” messages, problems with syndication feeds or other issues, try deactivating or removing this plugin.

WordPress database error: [Duplicate entry 'ngg_db_version' for key 2]
ALTER TABLE wpfabiano_options ADD UNIQUE KEY option_name (option_name)
WordPress database error: [Duplicate key name 'type_status_date']
ALTER TABLE wpfabiano_posts ADD KEY type_status_date (post_type,post_status,post_date,ID)

As a consequence, i switched back to 2.2.1 that is working just fine. I loosed all the stats but I don’t really mind.
