We have no plans to replace WordPress.com Stats with Jetpack at this time and are working to correct the errors with the plugin.
However, I’d like to recommend upgrading WordPress, as your current version is full of publicly known security vulnerabilities.
Hi James, do I understand you correctly that the WordPress.com Stats plugin is just going through some hiccups right now and will remain a functioning plugin?
I really have no intention whatsoever to switch to Jetpack as it adds way too much stuff to my installs that I really don’t need.
And of course there is always Google Analytics, but I (and my clients) just like the simplicity of WordPress.com Stats.
Thanks in advance!

Damn, I was under the impression that WordPress.com stats had ended and w had to install Jetpack, so I’ve now done this.
I preferred wordpress.com stats!
Yes, that is correct. WordPress.com stats is not being replaced at this time. It’s just a very odd coincidence that Jetpack happens to fix some of the problems that Stats is encountering.
Fantastic, thanks for the confirmation. Hopefully the troubles are soon solved then.
You’re welcome!
Hang in there, we’re working on it.
