[Plugin: WP Super Cache] mod_rewrite not present ? IIS hosting

    Hi,

    after installing plug-in I tried to enable it ‘ON’, but i got this error status message:

    ‘It appears that mod_rewrite is not installed. Sometimes this check isn’t 100% reliable, especially if you are not using Apache…’

    I’m on IIS hosting and have permalinks configured /index.php/%year%/%monthnum%/%postname%/ … so I guess rewriting is enabled on my server ?

    Any idea hot to overcome this problem ?

    IIS doesn’t have mod_rewrite, it uses something else, I think. I don’t know because I’ve never used it.

    Thank you donncha for response, I will try to find out from my hosting company some details…
    but not sure what to ask, but just know I want this plug-in.

    I have it on other sites but I guess last resort is to transfer to linux box
